HOVER FOR DESIGN STATEMENT
Get Down at Grace Hill is a piece about personality, energy, and unity. The piece begins in a rehabilitation center for those that are hurt and lonely. People are taking a dance class at the rehabilitation center as a form of group therapy. Throughout the lesson, the students begin to develop their own personalities through various forms of dance with modern/jazz, contemporary, and ballet. Lighting used individual bold colors to differentiate these styles and support the individual personalities being formed in the dance lesson. Once the students came together for a single dance, lighting melded the separate worlds of the students into a single world of unity.
